Computer Science Competition (Class 6 & 7), 2023

The highly anticipated Computer Science Competition for Class 6 & 7, took place on November 2nd, 2023, in the school’s auditorium. The competition aimed to foster innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills among the school students passionate about technology.

The competition was led by Miss Lanusangla Longkumer, Computer teacher of Grace Academy. The day kicked off with an invocation prayer by Miss Bendanglila Class teacher of Class 6. 

The competition was divided into four groups for Class 6:

  1. Cycle Logistics
  2. Eco Cult
  3. Tech Warriors
  4. Environmental Champions

And three groups for Class 7:

  1. Analysis Cooperation
  2. Tech Army
  3. Tech Wizards

The teams of Class 6 prepared their own interactive games, animations, and quizzes on the topic “Environment” using Scratch and they were judged based on their creativity and originality, content relevance, visual design, sound and music, storytelling/ gameplay, description/ instructions, delivery and presentation skills.

On the other hand, the teams of class 7 prepared a spreadsheet where they collected and reviewed the exam performance of some selected classes. After which each team presented their works through a presentation. They were judged based on two categories:

Presentation: Content relevance, organization & structure, visual design, slide layout, text & typography, delivery & presentation skills.

Spreadsheet: Organization & clarity, calculations and formulas, data visualization, user-friendliness.

The judges for the competition were Sir Siku (Computer teacher), Miss Chubatila (Class teacher of Class 7) and Madam Pamela (Class teacher of Class 5).

  • Winner of Computer Science Competition 2023 (Class 7) – Tech Wizards

Throughout the competition, we saw the students’ dedication, hardwork and the passion to take part in the competition. The students also showcased prowess in Scratch programming, Spreadsheet (Google Sheets) and Presentation (Google Slides). 

 

The program concluded with a closing prayer by Madam Spurna, the class teacher of Class 1B.

The Computer Science Competition 2023 was a resounding success, showcasing the technical acumen and innovative spirit of the students. It served as a platform to nurture budding technologists and will continue to inspire future endeavors.
