The Extempore Competition for Class 4 was held on 6th October at the School Auditorium. It was a remarkable event that showcased the eloquence and quick-thinking abilities of our talented participants. Miss Wabangrenla gracefully moderated the event, and we were honored to have Ma’am Spurna offer the invocation and Ma’am Regina the benediction.

After a selection round a total of 16 students took part in the event, which included 8 students each  from section A and B of Class 4. The competition consisted of two rounds, each designed to challenge the participants’ ability to speak extemporaneously on a given topic. In both the rounds, participants were asked to pick a topic, and they had to  speak for a duration of two minutes. The participants faced a formidable challenge as they were confronted with an impromptu topic and allowed only 30 seconds to collect their thoughts.

This stage served to evaluate not only their ability to articulate unscripted thoughts but also to assess their research and analytical abilities. The participants displayed impressive speaking skills and creativity in presenting their viewpoints. Miss Wabangrenla kept the audience engaged, ensuring that the event flowed smoothly.

A panel of esteemed judges evaluated the participants based on their content, delivery, and overall impact. At the culmination of the Extempore Contest, the following  students emerged as the victors.

  • First Place: Wadangkokba Ketholeto Yaden
  • Second Place: Annie Chetri
  • Third Place: Lanutula

In recognition of their exceptional performances, the winners received certificates, marking their achievement in this challenging competition.

Our institution places a strong emphasis on effective communication and critical thinking skills, and events like the Extempore Competition provide a platform for students to develop and showcase these skills. The competition demonstrated the ability of our students to think on their feet, articulate their thoughts effectively, and engage in meaningful discourse. We look forward to more such events in the future, encouraging our students to hone their communication and critical thinking skills. We express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this competition and made it a memorable event.
