On 17th June, 2023, a highly anticipated debate competition was held. The event was held for grades 6 and 7 separately , showcasing their impressive debating skills, critical thinking abilities, enhancing public speaking, and encouraging students to articulate their viewpoints effectively.<\/p>

The debate competition witnessed participation from 24 enthusiastic students, 12 students from class 6, and 12 students from class 7. Each class was divided into four groups and was further divided into two sets of teams.<\/p>

The competition followed a structured format, consisting of multiple rounds, including the opening statement, rebuttals, and the closing argument. The topics for each round were diverse and thought-provoking, covering a wide range of social and ethical issues.<\/p>

A panel of judges, comprising teachers, had the responsibility of evaluating and scoring the participants based on their content, delivery, rebuttal skills, and overall presentation. The judges’ expertise ensured a fair and impartial evaluation process.<\/p>

The topics for class 6 were:
\u201cIs the rapid advancement of technology beneficial for society?\u201d
Both groups played fair and were competitive. The debate ended with the opposition team winning with more points.<\/p>

\u201cBooks are better than television\u201d

The names of the winners are as follows:
Winners:
Soben Thong Seb, Manshi Bista, Anani Awomi, Liva Chetri, Sahina Begum and Najmin Aktar.<\/p>

Runners up:
Nemalongly, Thanggunhao Thomsong, Kilika Sema, Andrew Jochulo Khing, Ninoto P Achumi and Ichchha Regmi.<\/p>

\u201cShould the use of animals for scientific experimentation be abolished in favor of alternative methods?\u201d
Both groups played fair and were competitive. The debate ended with the proposition team winning with more points.<\/p>

Winners:
Niuke R Swu, Khushi Das, Alovito Sumi, Nighapu Sumi, Mercy Zeliang, Visevou Zie Israi.<\/p>

Runners up:
Otis Semy, Toship Ansari , Winnerson Ngouri, Hututo Vese Linoka Zhimomi, Paahi Mech.<\/p>

The top participants were recognized and certificates were handed based on their performance.<\/p>

The debate competition proved to be a resounding success, providing a platform for students to showcase their oratory abilities, critical thinking, and persuasive skills.
