Essay writing Competition (2025)

On 3rd May 2025, Grace Academy School, Dimapur organized an Essay Writing Competition for students from Classes 5 to 9. The aim of the competition was to encourage young learners to express their thoughts through writing, cultivate their creativity, and strengthen their command of the English language. The competition created an engaging platform for students to reflect on meaningful topics and communicate their perspectives confidently.

Each class was given a choice of topics tailored to their grade level, allowing students to select one that resonated with their interests and understanding. The topics assigned to each class were as follows:

Class 5A:

  1. Who is a Hero to You?
  2. Doing the Right Things When Nobody is Watching

Classes 5B and 6A:

  1. The Benefits of Reading
  2. If I Were the Prime Minister for a Day
  3. Be a Buddy, Not a Bully

Class 6B:

  1. If I Were the Prime Minister for a Day
  2. Advantages of Reading.

Class 7:

  1. My City, My Rules
  2. Invisible People

Class 8:

  1. My City, My Rules
  2. Invisible People
  3. If I Could Spend a Day with a Great Leader

Class 9:

  • Persuasive/Argumentative Essay Topic- Should Students Be Allowed to Use Phones in School?
  • Expository Essay: How Social Media Affects Teenagers
  • Narrative Essay: A Memory I Will Always Treasure
  • Descriptive Essay: A Day’s Trip to Kaziranga National Park

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who put in thoughtful effort to articulate their ideas. Entries were judged based on content relevance, creativity, clarity of thought, grammar, structure, and originality. After careful evaluation, the top three performers from each class were recognized.
