Grades 6 & 7 – Extempore speech competition 2025

Grace Academy organised the Annual Extempore Speech Competition 2025 for Classes 6 and 7 on monday, 11th august 2025 at the school auditorium. The event was designed to nurture confidence, clarity, and presence of mind in students while speaking spontaneously on diverse topics.


Class 6 Competition

The programme for Class 6 commenced at 9:00 a.m., moderated by miss Bendanglila. The event opened with an Invocation by miss Menuole-u, followed by the formal introduction of participants.

The competition was conducted in two rounds.

  • In Round 1, participants spoke on general, opinion-based topics, demonstrating their ability to think quickly and express themselves clearly.
  • In Round 2, the Top Five finalists presented on academic themes drawn from English Reader, Science, and Social Studies.

An engaging Audience Round, conducted by Sir Tinuakum, added variety and encouraged greater interaction.

The winners for Class 6 were:

  • First Place – Wadangkokba Ketholeto Yaden
  • Second Place – Zachungi Taochi Ezung
  • Third Place – Mhayangthung

Class 7 Competition

The Class 7 event began at 12:15 p.m., with Miss Chubatila as the Moderator. The programme was formally opened with an Invocation by Ma’am Sademrenla.

Following the same structure as Class 6, the competition included:

  • Round 1, featuring general topics.
  • Round 2, where the finalists delivered speeches on themes from Moral Science.
  • An Audience Round conducted by Miss Bendanglila,, which added an interactive and enjoyable element to the programme.

The winners for Class 7 were:

  • First Place – Kenienuglie Sekhose
  • Second Place – Kellika Zhimo
  • Third Place – Intisangla Walling

Judging and Recognition

The contests were evaluated by panels of experienced judges.

  • For Grade 6: Ma’am Pamela, Miss Chubatila, and Miss Withiunile.
  • For Grade 7: Miss Menuole-u, Sir Ujjal, and Miss Rongsenkala.

The judges also provided valuable feedback, praising the students for their spontaneity, originality, and stage presence.

The winners were awarded certificates of achievement, presented by the School Administrator, Sir Ketoulhou Sekhose, followed by a celebratory photo session.

In a reflective segment, the winners shared their personal experiences, offering insightful reflections and words of encouragement to their peers, lending an inspiring close to the competition.


Conclusion

The programme concluded with a benediction, invoking blessings for the students. The smooth conduct of the event was ensured through the dedicated efforts of the teacher in-charges, timekeepers, scorekeepers, technical support, and documentation team.

The Extempore Competition 2025 for Grades 6 and 7 was a resounding success. It not only provided students with a platform to showcase their public speaking abilities but also fostered critical thinking, quick reasoning, and eloquence. The event was marked by enthusiastic participation, spirited competition, and constructive feedback, making it an enriching and memorable experience for all.
