Grace Academy Kindergarten – Charity Week (2025)

Date: 30th June – 4th July 2025

Grace Academy Kindergarten organized Charity Week from the 30th of June to the 4th of July 2025, with the aim of encouraging empathy, compassion, and social responsibility among young children. The week focused on helping students understand the importance of kindness and giving, while providing simple, age-appropriate opportunities for them to take part in charitable acts.

Throughout the week, students learned about the idea of charity through class discussions and short activities that helped them reflect on how small acts of giving could make a big difference. They were encouraged to think about others in need and were introduced to the joy of helping through simple classroom challenges that made the experience more engaging.

Students were invited to bring in useful items, some suggested items included:
Food Items – canned goods, rice, pulses, biscuits, tea leaves, milk, etc.
School Supplies – notebooks, pencils, pens, rulers, etc.
Books – especially children’s books and textbooks.
Toys – new or gently used, preferably educational.
Hygiene Products – toothpaste, toothbrushes, soaps, etc.
Household Essentials – blankets, cookware, utensils, etc.

The response was heartwarming. Each day, students arrived with donations, visibly happy and excited to contribute. Their enthusiasm reflected a growing sense of empathy and a clear understanding of the purpose behind their actions. As part of encouraging continued kindness, students who brought items and showed generosity were given special thank-you badges. Those who continued to bring items on other days received additional badges. This simple reward system motivated many of the children, and the more they gave, the more badges they proudly collected.

On the final day, 4th July, students from Nursery Grace Toddlers, A – Helping Hands, A – Smart Pandas, B – Little Giants, and B – Learning Bunnies came together in the Multi-Purpose Hall to place all their collected items.Teachers and students took a moment to appreciate the contributions and to reflect on the meaningful experience. To hold on to the memory and cherish it for years to come, the moment was captured in photographs—both class-wise and some individual pictures as well.

After the collection, all the donated items were sorted and distributed to families in the local community. When the students had the opportunity to hand over the donations, the experience became even more powerful. Recipients greeted them with warm smiles, blessings, and heartfelt thank-yous. For many of our students, it was the first time they saw how their simple actions could bring comfort and happiness to others—and that realization was deeply moving.

Charity Week at Grace Academy Kindergarten was a simple but powerful experience. It helped students begin to understand the value of giving and showed them that even small contributions can make a big difference. The week successfully met its goal of nurturing compassion and kindness in the hearts of our young learners.
