Grace Academy celebrated World Poetry Day with great enthusiasm, providing students with a wonderful platform to express their creativity and love for poetry. A variety of competitions were organized for different classes, ensuring active participation across all age groups.
The celebration began with the Poetry Recitation Competition for Classes 1 and 2. The young learners recited poems with confidence, clarity, and expressive gestures, captivating the audience with their innocence and enthusiasm.
For Classes 3 and 4, an Acrostic Poem Competition was conducted. Students were given themes on the spot, which encouraged spontaneous thinking and creativity. They skillfully composed acrostic poems, demonstrating both imagination and a good command of language.
Classes 5, 6, and 7 participated in the Limerick Writing Competition. With themes given on the spot, students were challenged to think quickly and creatively. The participants presented humorous and rhythmic limericks, showcasing their understanding of the poetic form.
The highlight of the event was the Poetry Slam Competition for Classes 8 to 10. Unlike the other groups, these students were informed of their themes in advance, allowing them to prepare thoroughly. The themes included “A Letter to My Younger Self,” “The Future We Want,” and “Dreams.” The participants delivered powerful and expressive performances, reflecting deep thought, originality, and emotional intensity. Their presentations were both engaging and thought-provoking.
