Class 4 Extempore Competition, 2025

The Class 4 Extempore Competition was held on 7th August 2025 at 9:00 a.m. in the school auditorium. The programme was moderated by Miss Neizope-u and Miss Rongsenkala. The event began with an invocation by Madam Sademrenla, setting a thoughtful tone for the morning.

The moderators then introduced the participants to the audience. A total of 16 students took part in the competition, each demonstrating confidence and readiness to take on the challenge. The competition was conducted in two rounds.

In Round 1, participants were called out one by one through a random selection of serial numbers. Each contestant had to pick a chit containing their topic, prepare for 20 seconds, and then deliver a speech for 2 minutes. The timekeepers, Miss Prema with the buzzer, ensured that the warning bell rang at 1 minute 30 seconds and the final bell at 2 minutes. By the end of the first round, the judges — Miss Temsuinla, Miss Bendanglila, and Miss Withiunile — selected five finalists based on content, fluency, confidence, and overall delivery. The finalists were: Neoning Khartu Monsang, Kivinu Murru, Akina Yuddela Zhimo, Kebennye Khing, and Thejavizo Yano.

Round 2 brought even more energy to the stage as the finalists displayed their quick thinking and eloquence. Each finalist tackled their topic with composure, creativity, and clear expression, impressing both the audience and the judges. After careful deliberation, the winners were declared:

  • 1st Place: Akina Yuddela Zhimo
  • 2nd Place: Kivinu Murru
  • 3rd Place: Kebennye Khing

Following the announcement, certificates were presented by the School Administrator, Sir Ketoulhou Sekhose, to all the winners and participants. The event concluded with a photo session to capture the memorable moments, and the benediction was offered by Miss Kali.

The competition not only showcased the students’ speaking skills but also encouraged them to think on their feet, express themselves confidently, and develop public speaking abilities. The enthusiasm of the participants, the support of the teachers, and the lively encouragement from the audience made the event a resounding success.
