The Grade 5 Extempore Competition 2025 was held on 7th August 2025 at 12:00 noon. The event was organised to give students an opportunity to develop and demonstrate their public speaking skills. It was hosted by Sir Tinuakum and Miss Withiunile, the class teachers of Grade 5.
The programme began with an invocation led by Miss Menuole-u, after which sixteen participants were introduced.
In Round 1, each participant delivered a short speech on a general topic. This round assessed their ability to think clearly and speak confidently within a limited time.
After the round, the panel of judges provided feedback, praising the participants for their originality, fluency, and stage presence. An Audience Round, conducted by Miss Rongsenkala, added variety to the event and encouraged interaction.
The competition then moved to Round 2, featuring the Top 5 finalists:

- Rushanthung Ethan Ezung
- Kimnunnem Thomsong
- Azalimi P Achumi
- Meshenhi Seb
In this round, the finalists spoke on subject-related topics from English, Science, and Social Studies, showcasing both subject knowledge and communication skills.
Based on their overall performance, the judges declared the following winners:
- First Place – Abigail D. Sangma
- Second Place – Rushanthung Ethan Ezung
- Third Place – Kimnunnem Thomsong
Certificates were presented to the winners by the School Administrator, Sir Ketoulhou Sekhose, followed by a photo session. In a reflective segment, the winners shared their experiences, offering personal insights and words of encouragement to their peers – an inspiring close to a thoroughly enriching competition.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Miss Withiunile and a benediction by Madam Sademrenla.
The competition was coordinated by the Academy staff and teachers, who managed judging, timekeeping, scorekeeping, technical support, and documentation.
The Grade 5 Extempore Competition 2025 successfully encouraged public speaking, critical thinking, and student confidence.In the echoes of their words, we hear the promise of brighter days and leaders yet to come.
